Yeah, i hate to say it, but i don't think they give two wits about their fan base. Their attitude seems to be "this is how it is, and this how it's gonna be", and that's only because they have no competition, and knowing people don't have any other place to go.
That's how these games die in quality eventually, and i think that's what's going on with The Show.
Look i love Baseball, but this is a sport that demographically, young people are losing interests in lieu of more contact sports. When you have a dip in interest, it's incumbent to bring in people who may not even be Baseball Fans, as 2K did with Basketball.
I'm not that big of a Basketball fan, but 2K was able to suck me in. I can't stand soccer, but after playing the FIFA 12 Demo, and buying the game, i got sucked into that.
So the Developers have to get off their high horse, before this game ends up to be the NHL Franchise, or worse, 2K Baseball, and start really putting emphasis on their Presentation, Commentary (its awful), Online play, Career etc, and the little things like what you brought up, while at the same time, sticking to core gameplay that works, or this Franchise is gonna die on a vine.
